About Hindi Movies

The Hindi film industry began in the early 1900's. The first Hindi movie Raja Harishchandra made its debut during the silent film era. Hindi movies are extremely popular and annual ticket sales and overall revenue for these films more than double that of United States or western-based films. Currently, the Indian film industry produces nearly 1,000 films a year in over 20 different languages.
People generally use Hindi movies and Bollywood in the same context. While Bollywood is a huge part of the Indian film industry, it is not the entire industry. Bollywood films are more often than not, musicals while Hindi movies in general include many different genres of film. Throughout the entire Indian film industry though, Bollywood films are the most popular of all Indian produced films.
Some movies are lower budget, inexpensively produced pictures. Most, however, are large, big budget productions rich in cinematic photography. You can find Hindi movies in every genre including:

Horror
Comedy
Musical
Drama
Romantic
Comedy
Action/Adventure

Hindi movies are very popular in countries such as the United Kingdom and Nepal. These films are experiencing a growth in popularity within the United States. The most popular genre in the Indian film industry is by far the musicals. These films include lavish productions, beautiful costumes, intricate choreography and fun
